Technology as a Brand Marketing Tool
There is a fairly unknown phenomenon that we call Techno-Affinity. You see, technology makes people warm-up to marketers' most asked questions. This warming-up process allows brand marketers to get many of their highest priority questions answered without the use of live sales and service people. In addition, many new technologies can be combined together to provide data capture for marketing and selling solutions in a way that you have not yet dreamed of. Best of all, these technologies though not well-known, are all available now at a reasonable cost.

Real life example - We put a kiosk into the Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta GA. The kiosk integrated a holographic projection display (Volumatrix 3D Projected Holograms) with a touch pad keyboard for data capture capability. The images shown on the display were 3-d holographic versions of the Coca-Cola Polar bear commercials from winter of 2002. There was no formal presentation or request for employee data. The kiosk was merely placed to see Coke employee reactions to the holographic display. However, when an employee approached the display, they could see the keyboard and the keyboard allowed them to input their e-mail and other basic contact information.

After 60 days, 10% of the entire Coke staff had input their information. Remember, there was no closing presentation, no request for this personal data. Yet, 350 employees had freely handed over their personal data in 60 days. This leaves only one question: How and when can you use techno-affinity to create these kind of brand marketing results with your next project?
